Programme accreditations

programme-accreditations

At Academion, we are specialists in peer review assessments in higher education. We value quality and independence and take an accessible and personal approach. Our starting point is the strength of the programmes and researchers. We are NVAO trained and deliver good and readable reports in Dutch and English.

We strive for an optimal result for all parties involved and feel responsible for making the process pleasant for everyone. This means that we communicate flexibly and openly and are easily accessible. In addition, we prepare the review panel extensively for the review and make every effort to ensure that the process runs smoothly, with the panel members acting as critical friends who provide constructive advice.

Development-oriented assessment

At Academion, you can choose for development-oriented assessment. In this type of assessment, the focus of the process is on reflection and discussion about the further development of your programme, based on topics that you choose.

The organization of the site visit reflects this approach and offers plenty of room for adding elements of your own. You can also choose to work with an information file based on existing documents instead of a self-assessment report. This allows the review panel a behind-the-scenes look at your programme.

Our approach is modular: you can opt for a fully development-oriented approach, but you can also incorporate elements of a more traditional approach. By now we have gained a lot of experience with development-oriented assessment. Together, we ensure an approach that fits your needs and possibilities.

Unique and special assessments

Academion is often asked to support unique, complex assessments, such as accreditations with a distinctive feature or a different assessment framework, reassessments or visits to smaller institutions. We have an eye for the special approach that this requires and can tailor these processes to your needs.

Recent projects we have supported include post-initial programmes, research masters, assessments of small and intensive education (BKKI), reassessments in the case of conditional accreditation and supplementary assessments.

Our consultants are also experienced in complex assessment processes such as the combination of national and international accreditation, international joint degrees and cross-programme graduation variants. We ensure that special assessments are conducted carefully and efficiently, and support you throughout the process.

Large assessment clusters

We specialise in managing large assessment clusters of university programmes. For larger assessment clusters, one of our consultants acts as process coordinator. He or she is the permanent point of contact for the participating institutions and programmes involved and ensures the quality of the assessment process. The coordinator acts as secretary themselves and also works with a permanent team of secretaries and support staff who contribute at different stages of the process. The coordinator is closely involved in each individual visit, from preparation to visit and to reporting.
